"Most of my friends will tell you that I am a very organized person. However, I would argue that I’m not! I am to a point, but I never feel like I am getting it all done like I should be. Then I received The Busy Woman’s Planner for review - it is definitely heaven-sent! I’ve tried using day planners before, but just never succeeded in using them long-term. I do not think that will be the case with this planner."

Candles by Homestead Originals

I love to support work-at-home moms and you will see me recommend various websites throughout my pages. I will try to place the business information on appropriate pages. Because I love to light candles in my living room, I'm going to list candle companies on these pages! I can highly recommend candles from Homestead Originals. I have several in my home and they burn clean, light smelling - not overwhelming, and for a very long time! Their candles are made from soy and so do not emit toxins as they are burning. They sell all sizes, shapes and prices for all budgets. Try a Homestead Original candle today!

Keeping Your Home Tidy!

I think this is probably my favorite Home Organization topic because it is sooooo easy! I absolutely ABHOR clutter ... I want my home presentable to anyone who might drop by. The key to this is DAILY MAINTENANCE - that's all there is to it! Some people follow The FlyLady's advice, but that didn't work for me. However, I recommend checking her out and maybe even signing up to receive her advice just to get you started on keeping your home clean.

Ok, here are my tips: - First, if you want to get your home clean ONCE AND FOR ALL, tackle one room DAILY until you've gone through the entire house. Get rid of stuff you aren't using (clothes, toys, papers, etc.). Once a room is clean, tidy it up at least once weekly so that it doesn't get out of hand again.

- assign different chores for each day, so that all chores/cleaning gets done AT LEAST once weekly. For example, I wash sheets and towels every Friday. I have 2 days set aside for vacuuming the house. My daughter cleans the bathrooms on Fridays. Mirrors and glass gets cleaned once weekly, etc. I just have a schedule that rotates when I need to clean - this way I'm not overwhelmed DAILY with cleaning EVERYTHING!

- Tidy up the house before school, after school and then have EVERYONE in the family help in a 30-minute tidy-up session either after dinner or before bed. If each member picks up their own mess before bed, the house is clean for the next day.

- One of the chatters shared how she is teaching her kids to put away their toys, games, etc. BEFORE they get something else out.

- Keep table tops and countertops clear of clutter. This makes a home look so much cleaner.
