Knitting and crochet are crafts that I have wanted to learn since I was young, but noone that I knew knitted or crocheted. My aunt crocheted me a poncho with pom-poms when I was about 8 years old and I loved it! Unfortunately, we didn't live near each other so she couldn't teach me how to do it. A friend of my husband's from college crocheted my firstborn a beautiful blanket as a gift. It was the FIRST blanket she had ever done and it had stuffed applique on it and everything. I was so impressed with her handiwork.
A dear friend taught me the basics of knitting in 2004 and I knitted several scarves for myself and a few family members. That's about as far as I got and I only knitted for one winter season. Then my life got busy. As of October 2006, I have two unfinished scarves and I can't remember how to knit - LOL! So, once again, my dear friend is going to sit down with me this winter and help me get those scarves finished. Once that is done, I want to learn how to crochet. My sister crochets and says that it's much easier than knitting. I like easy! I know that once I start these two hobbies back up, I'll be hunting the internet for good pattern pages and I'll want to share pictures of my creations, so check back again for updates over the coming months.
It is my hope that you will find something useful here on my site! I currently enjoy the privilege of being able to stay at home to homeschool my children and I am always striving to be the best caretaker for my precious family.
