The kitchen is the center of my home because you will find me in there so much!
It is an open kitchen ... open to the dining room and can be seen from the foyer.
For this reason, my kitchen becomes the place where people congregate to sit and
talk, often while I'm preparing. cooking or serving meals. Here is a picture of it:
As you can see in the pictures below, I have a coffee theme going on! We found the border at Lowe's and then happened to find the matching accessories at TJ Maxx that very same day! Just a little serendipity!
As you can see, my husband is very precise when he wallpapers! He even covered the switch cover for me and he did such a nice job matching everything all up!

May 22, 2006 - Review: The Family Recipe Keeper
Oh, I was so excited to receive my items from Marmee Dear today! First I'll review The Family Recipe Keeper. My daughter was just telling me a few months ago that she wants to write down all of her favorite meals and their recipes so that she knows how to make them when she's on her own and can share them with HER family. I receive the e-newsletters from Marmee (you can receive her newsletters by signing up here) and when I saw she was publishing a book called The Family Recipe Keeper, I knew that I had found what I needed for my daughter.

For more detailed information on this product, click here. This book is so sweet! I like the smaller size, too (it's 6" x 9"). There is plenty of room on the recipe pages to write up longer recipes or you could even write in 2 shorter recipes on one page if you wanted to. Extra recipe pages, cards, etc. can be purchased on the accessories page so you can add to this book as needed, although there isn't room for the addition of a LOT of pages - you could probably add another 15 pages or so. There are tips and advice sprinkled throughout the book, too.
I love the inclusion of the heavy-duty plastic sheet protectors. They do double-duty as they have a pocket in the top. You can slip in recipes you've pulled from magazines or even place pictures or favorite sayings/Bible verses in there to look at while you're cooking. There are two of them so that you can cover BOTH sides of the recipe book when the book is open to the recipe you are cooking. In addition, there is another vinyl protector page which you can use, too.
This is a really nice keepsake and a perfect gift to inspire your children to pass on the favorite family recipes! You can check out the product at Marmee Dear today!
It is my hope that you will find something useful here on my site! I currently enjoy the privilege of being able to stay at home to homeschool my children and I am always striving to be the best caretaker for my precious family.
