Meet My Husband!
My husband, Jim, has a Masters in Organizational Management and is currently the Sr. Director of Production & Inventory Control at a popular furniture production company. He works long hours sometimes to allow me the privilege to remain at home with the children. When he's not working, he doesn't know how to sit still - LOL! He has two main interests at the moment. One is karate and he earned his black belt in Shorin-Ryu karate on 6/10/06. The other is running. He is enjoying competing in races and has run several 5K's and a half-marathon. He has even won a few ribbons and trophies for his efforts! Our family will run a marathon together in 2008.
I chose this theme for his page because when I met him at the tender age of 16, he was living on a farm with his Mom and brother and helping to tend to a beef farm. His father died when he was 13 and so it fell on the kids to continue the farm work. He had to cut wood for the wood stove that heated the house - there was no central heat and it was COLD upstairs! He grew up in the mountains of Virginia and when I would go visit him and his family on the weekends during my senior year in high school, I was always amazed at how much colder it was up there. Jim would get up VERY early in the morning to go feed the cows and the temps would be in the negatives.
My husband and I went to separate colleges and married the summer after we graduated. I never imagined that I would meet my husband when I was 16 years old! He is the best thing that has ever happened to me - he is my best friend and I know that I can talk to him about anything. Jim is an awesome father and a real "Mr. Fix-It" ... he can fix anything using his creativity and knowledge he gained while working on the farm. They didn't just run out and buy something new when it broke - they fixed it! I hope that my son turns out to be a man just like his daddy and that my daughter marries someone just like him, too!
My husband loves nature! We are lucky to live only minutes from a state park. He enjoys running on the nature trails when he has the time. The kids enjoy frequent hikes with their dad in the summer time. They head to the lake and skip rocks and are always on the lookout for deer and other woodland creatures. Our goal is to retire in a "little cabin in the woods" and I sure hope that we can pull it off!

It is my hope that you will find something useful here on my site! I currently enjoy the privilege of being able to stay at home to homeschool my children and I am always striving to be the best caretaker for my precious family.
